Hash, Halloween and History
Trip Start May 11, 2005
320Trip End Ongoing
Dave and I stayed with his Step Dad who was the most gracious host one could ever ask for. He took us out for nice dinners, showed us around and even gave me some clothes when I discovered that I had left my backpack with a bitch that was crazier than a run over dog. I only had the clothes on my back.....Email me if you want to know the backpack story...it keeps getting better and better.
Our first order of business was to hash
Our next order of business was to party in Georgetown for Halloween. Dressed as a Monty Python Knight (with coconut shells to boot) with Dave dressed as a hot dog, we set out to plunder the town. Only problem was that everyone else had the same idea. It was to much of a good thing! The bar streets were packed as was every single pub. Places were charging enormous covers just to stand in a room that was more crowed than a Tokyo subway. Dave brought a couple packs of raw hot dogs and would give them randomly to strangers, street musicians and waitress as a tips....needless to say they did not seem very pleased with his room tempature sausage...(thats what she said! BaaaddaaaBing!) The best part of the night was seeing an old friend I use to work with in Yellowstone. I knew she lived in DC so it was fantastic that we could catch up!
Finally after hashing and Halloween I put on my tourist hat and went out to see the sites of DC. By this time I felt simply terrible but I trudged on through the sites and museums. Seeing the White House and the Mall and the Tomb of the Unknown Solider were pretty sweet but they would have been alot better if I did not have the Man flu.
All in all....it was a great trip to DC. I would love to come back, be healthy and see more! (and have more than one change of clothes)
