Hyderabad is an area of India that has exploded with the cyber boom. "Cyberbad"generates wealth, jobs and super posh night clubs. This was a definite change from the rest of India. I was able to see how the middle and upper class Indians live. I met many Americans that were all working there for random companies and were getting paid a proper US wage. Getting a wage like that in India is huge!
The first thing we did (Eva,Lynea) was to go check out the Muslim quarter. It was here that we encounter a little retarded Indian kid that I nick named Booger. He was so named because no matter what we did we could not shake him off! This little guy clung to us for miles! (and by clung I mean 2 inches from us) Try as we might, we could not get rid of him. He liked the girls more than me (they are more polite) Finally we had to pay an entrance fee to climb up the Charminar. He tried to follow but had no money. From our lofty vantage point we could see him waiting for us! So I made the following plan, we would all leave separately and meet at the worlds largest Mosque (space for 10,000 worshipers) whoever Booger followed had to shake him....If he followed me I was just going to run around cars until he got the point. Turns out he followed Lynea and it took her 30 minuets to lose him! While I was waiting for her I went into the gigantic Mosque. Muslims love pigeons (rats with wings) and feed them around the Mosques. Since the ground is holy everyone must take off their shoes..... So combine sweaty feet with tons and tons of pigeon shit...... I lost interest in the Mosque quickly as I made pigeon mud..... SO NASTY!!!! On our way back to our hotel Booger found us! This time the Girls decided to get firm. Eva told him to go and did the away gesture. I guess this hurt his little feelings because he punched her in the boob and ran off! Good times!
The rest of my time in Hyderabad was spent checking out all the ritzy clubs. A friend from Montana (Jamie) who use to live in India put me in touch with his friend Aditi. She took me all around the club scene. I think in 3 days we hit 6 clubs! It was great to hear good house music while sipping cocktails. Aditit works 6 days a week 9 hours a day and still is able to party hard. My hat goes off to her! For a town with 5.5 million people in it I swear she knew everyone! I payed no cover charges and barely had to pay for a drink. Through her I met a ton of people including her really nice roommates.
One last thing thing I did before I left was to check out one of the worlds largest free standing Buddhas. Its on a small island in the middle of a lake. Not much to really see in Hyderabad but the club scene was fantastic!
