Hashing and The Mall of America
May 11, 2005
That same day we sought out the Minneapolis Hash House Harriers and jumped on trail. The hashers in Minneapolis were super friendly layed a great trail. It was a stifling hot day and the end of the run took place in river! It felt so good after running 5 miles in the stifling heat to jump into that cool water. Some hasher's even short cutted the trail and floated the river to the end. Since we told everyone we were on a camping road trip we got invited to stay the night in a fellow hasher's house
! It was great to take a proper shower and sleep in a comfortable bed. These hasher's even made us breakfast! (Thanks Sex World and Jail Bate) This is the hash where we received Huggy Jesus. A hasher named Manwhich gave us this doll to take as our mascot. This doll is an actual Christian toy made for children! (Jesus can't go hashing because the Jew wont pay 5 dollars - that's a hash song). So from this point on Huggy Jesus was tied to the roof of our car and went everywhere with us.
As we drove the rest of the way across Minnesota we stopped and played frisbee golf everywhere we could. I even looked for Lake Wobegon (from NPR Praire Home Companion) only to discover that it's a fictional location! (Bastards!) From there we made our way to Wisconsin.
There were only a couple things we wanted to do in Minnesota... frisbee golf, Mall of America and hash. As a kid I had always heard the Mall of America was the biggest mall in the world. Man was I wrong! I guess its the largest in the U.S. There are tons of larger malls around the world. Since we were in the area we decided to stop by and check it out. The mall did not really blow my mind but it did have roller coaster in it and of course we ate at the Taco Bell.
