This was my second time in San Fransico this year.  The first time Chelise and I drove up Thanksgiving weekend to hang out with Emma and Nick and to check out his new business    I also ended up catching up with a friend of mine (Piper) I met during my travels in Panama and Colombia.
The second time was for BAY TO BREAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    I went  to this massive street party a couple of years ago (Entry 105)  So I was prepared for the craziness but also super excited.   This year was special because not only was I able going to Bay to Breakers but the San Fransico hash house harriers was having a 3 day hashing extravaganza!    Sadly Chelise's job would not let her have the time off so I drank for the both of us.    A couple of  Vegas hashers were able to make it as well as my travel buddy, Dave (chocolate tooth) McPune (he smells like nerd).  I met Dave at the airport,  took the tram downtown and followed directions to the beginning of  the hash.
Since thousands of people come from all over the country to participate in Bay to Breakers this trickled down to the hash.   We ran with over 200 people!  It was an awesome trail that highlighted all the best sites of San Fransico it even ran into Candlestick Stadium during a baseball game.  The hash finally ended at a night club the hash had rented for the on after (after party).  This was a Toga party as you can tell from the pictures and it was a rip-roaring good time. At one point I was slide dancing on a particular part of the floor, I liked this spot because it was super slick.   Dave then pointed out that I was dancing in his vomit!  A pub crawl ensued after  but being unable to drink any more I walked/ran 12 miles (at 1 AM) back to Emma and Nicks place.    Dave with his potbelly was able to keep on drinking and is still not sure whose house he slept at.
The next day after barely sleeping it off we met up for another hash that highlighted more of the sites of SanFran and ended up in Balboa Park for hash games.  This included a 3 legged race (beer in hand is mandatory)  Me, Dave and Brenda won this event by a mile but due to some lame infraction (not turning around at the end)  We did not claim official victory but we all know who really won....   After the contest there was a huge slip & slide contest with different hashes trying to out-slide other kennels.   The games ended with iron arm drinking contest.  This game basically involves a long hollow pipe that one slides their arm through.   The contraption basically does not allow the arm to bend and the contestant ends up having to pour the beer from arms lengths away.   Everyone ended up covered in beer.
The night progressed into another pub crawl and we ended up crashing at a random hashers house in downtown San Fran.   After 3 hours of sleep we all got up (still a little drunk) and headed off to the start of Bay to breakers.   Since I did not plan on sleeping at a random location I did not have my costume or my camera for the event.  Luckily I was able to get a hold of Nick and he brought me my costume but no camera!  Therefore all the pictures you see of the actual bay to breakers were taken by Dave and  that's why its looks like a drunk, 3 year old had the camera.
One thing that should not be forgotten is as follows: as Dave and I and 4 others hashers were on our way to the starting point of B2B, we just so happened to stop at a giant office complex to grab some life giving coffee.  In the middle of this office complex was giant water feature that was composed of a giant circle of standing water that was about 2 inches deep and 30 feet across.   If it were not for the potted plants there were sporadically placed around it this standing pool would have been easy to miss.   I myself still being half asleep almost walked into it.   Upon the 6 of us procuring coffee we all sat down at table that was located no less than a foot from this feature.   I causally told the group that I would give Dave 10 bucks if he slid across the area behind us.  Another hasher heard me and said she would throw in 10 more also.  All this was said in jest and was more less just a random thought that happen to be verbalized.   No less than 3 seconds later, Dave ( who eyes were still glazed over)  gave a giant battle cry and ran full blast toward the standing water.   He then supermaned on his belly across the entire pool.  The funny thing was that in his alcohol infused stupor he had mistaken the smoothness of the water for the smoothness of the freshly waxed marble floor.  He was just as surprised as we were when he found himself sliding across water!   I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life!!!  The security guards couldn't figure out what to do with Dave.  They didn't know weather to kick him out of the complex or file an accident report.   The entire coffee house was laughing hysterically while security scrambled to make sense of a wet confused Dave.   GOOD TIMES!
After these shenanigans we headed out to meet the Emma and Nick's group to start the Bay to Breakers party.   Our groups theme was Olympics (since the torch had just passed thhrough SF) and we all dressed as participating countries.  Our beer cart was the Olympic torch and the rest is a blur!
