Popayn is knows as the "white city" because of its beautiful colonial houses. The city is well-known for its colonial architecture and its contributions to Colombian cultural and political life. More presidents have come from Popayán than any other city Colombia.  Because the structure of the city  have not changed over time it feels like you have stepped back in time.   The streets are narrow and I found it hard to do this picturesque city justice with my crappy photographs.
My friend Bernardo (from Yellowstone) gave me a number of a buddy ( Diego) that lives there.  Diego met me at the bus station and proceeded to show me around town and make lunch at his house.   That night he brought me to his English class so that his students could practice with a native speaker.   Afterwards we hit a couple of salsa clubs with some friends and ended up staying out till 3 in the morning.
The hospitality of the Colombian people amazes me... I have been treated so well  for no reason! ( beside the fact that I'm really good looking........)     I have written more explanations on the pictures in this entry thus causing this entry to be shorter!
