Even though this town was only 150 miles from where I was in Nicaragua, it took me 12 hours to get here. Between getting stuck at the border for 4 hours, 5 different buses and excruciating slow rides the time added up. For some reason this almost broke me. The best part is that in Costa Rica when you buy a bus ticket with the time of departure it does not mean a thing! I learned this after showing up to catch my bus and seeing a line with more people than the bus could hold. This happened to me twice in one day! At first I thought it was a fluke but the second time I ended up asking the ticket lady why I could not get on a bus that I paid for. All I could understand was the printed time on the ticket "is not important" But standing in line for hours is!
I finally ended up in Playa Flamingo where my friend James lives. There is not a whole lot to report about 7 days here because I decided that I needed a small break from my constant schedule of travel and enjoyed movies and air con. Pretty much everyday was the same for me..... Get up, go to James cousinīs restaurant and have an ice coffee, James goes to work, I go for a walk on the beach, I watch movies in air con, James comes home from work and then we hit the bars. This was my schedule for 7 days. I also have another friend ( Greg Kamphouse, roommate from San Diego) that lives in Costa Rica but I never knew where.... turns out he lives 50 meters away from James. So coming to this town worked out perfectly because I got to see 2 friends who by total chance lived in the same town.
So in the end I had a great time relaxing in air con and catching up with 2 friends. I know this makes for a boring blog especially since I took only 3 pictures but it had to be done!
