Getting to Guatemala was a breeze from Belize.  We caught the early ferry from Caye Caulker and were in Tikal Guatemala that night.  We arrived in Tikkal with 3 hours to go before they closed.  It turns out that most people go early in the morning for sun rise.  Screw that! So we barley say any people.
The ruins here far surpassed any I have seen before.  Since it was located deep in the jungle there was alot of wildlife.  Howler monkeys and spider monkeys were everywhere.  Being a huge fan of monkeys I was in heaven. Spider monkey are like the ninjas of the monkey world.  They were pulling off death defying moves to the point that I was worried for their little monkey safety.  To be honest I liked watching the monkeys more than the ruins.  Then there is the howler monkeys that sound like huge angry silver back.  That have deep roar that would scare the pants of you if you did no know that they were only 2 feet tall.
We met some other backpackers that had been working in the peace core as bee keepers in  Bolivia for 4 years.  They had alot of cool stories.   We ended up watching the sun set from atop of the pyramids.
