SanFransico was one big party! We went there to stay with our frineds Emma and Nick. Chelise knows them from Oz and I know them from Garmish. We also caught up with two more Garmish friends Chris and Heidi.
Our first night we went downtown SanFran to go visit Chris in his huge office building that is right in the middle of all the other huge office towers. His office is on the top floor and has a sweet view of the city. Since his brother owns the company we had free range of the office and all the cold beer we wanted.
The next thing I did when I got to this city was to run a Hash. Now if you dont know what a hash is yet then google it becuase Im sick of explaining it! I could not get Chelise to come with me so I deicded to run the thing by myself until Nick showed up at the last second. The hash route was sweet and it wound its way through the streets of SanFran and along the ocean front. There was even a beer stop at someones house. When we finished the course, they had a band set up in the parking lot as well as Kegs! This Hash House is actually sponsered by a beer so they drink for free... However, the beer was 8 percent and no one told us this until we were blindingly drunk in half the time it normally takes. From this point on things got messy and lots of fun things happened that require more of direct email if you want to know all the details. I have been instructed not to share them in a mass email but if you email me I can happily fill you in on a certain someone..... We'll just call this mister X.... Tick Nompson....
The day after the Hash and I mean early.... Nick and I had to get up to move a guy from one art studio to the next. The pay was great but the 8 percent beer was kicking our ass all day.
The highlight of trip to SanFran was the Bay to Breakers fun run. Now you may think you know what a fun run is but this one blew my mind. This event was more like the street parades I have been to in Berlin or Zurich. The event starts at 8 AM on Saturday, which noramally would be no problem but the night before we all went to a Crystal Method contert and did not get home until 3ish. So it was extremely difficut to get up at 7 just to party again..... But it was so worth it. Basically after all the runners do their thing, thousands of people walk the 8 mile course in costume. On this day,you are permitted to drink in the streets and walk around naked. We hooked up with a bunch of Emma and Nick friends and Benny Boy Clarke (from GAP) and we were all dressed as penguins. We had two shopping carts tied together that looked like a giant iceberg, (filled with beer) From the begining to end it is one giant street parade, costumed people everwhere, street parties on the side streets, outside raves, bands set up on the side of the road and general mayhem. It was a great time as you can see from the pictures.
After all this we defintly needed some time to recover and thats what we did with the rest of our time in SanFran!!!
It was so great seeing everyone and finally seeing Emma & Nick again!!!!!
