Arriving here at 3 am was not as fun as it sounds. It's hard to find the best room for the money when you have to wake up every one to see what the details of the room are. So we settled for the first overpriced room we came to. We tried to barter and the lady could barely keep her eyes open.
We hung out in this town for a day checking out the markets and marveling at the Jeepneys, which is what public transportion is composed off. Basially when the US military pulled out in '91' they left a crapload of these extended jeepneys here. The locals then took them, painted them up to look really nice, and put all sort of crap Christian sayings on them like "Jesus is Lord!" and then chromed them out. It's a very unique public transport system and you can tell from the pics no two Jeepneys are the same! Not much to report on this town expect the insane security in the malls. You get searched every time you go into any building because everyone one is packing heat or a wicked knife (which can be purchashed for 2 bucks). It was a bit unnerving espcially when people would tell us specifically that we, as white travelers needed to be very careful.
