Wow possibly the greatest 2 days of my trip. The Iguazu Falls are just incredible!!! On the first day I went to the Brazillian side of the falls and they were just amazing! They are massive, so much larger than Niagara Falls (I think I heard by three times but Iīm not sure if thatīs true), and the fact that they are surrounded by nature instead of concrete, casinos and hotels made it all that much more enchanting. They were just beautiful, piles of cascading waterfalls, there were quite a few of them, some smaller than others culminating in the Devilīs Throat which was just magnificent. A larger then life waterfall surrounding this little platform you can walk out on and feel like youīre right in the middle of the falls. Plus while I was enjoying my time on this platform getting covered in mist a rainbow formed, it was quite surreal. At this point I was quite captivated and could not believe that the Argentine side was supposed to be even better.
On my second day I went to the Argentine side...my goodness they were absolutely breathtaking. We got there first thing in the morning and took a train (think Disney world style) to the Devilīs Throat where we got to see the falls around the corner from the Brazillian side. It wasabsolutely mesmorizing!!! There were piles of smaller falls cascading down rocks amongst lush green vegetation, an absolutely picturesque setting...then at the end there was a huge powerful fall that was so captivating, the contrast was amzing. I could have stood there all day. Afterwards we took a raft boat through the upper river through beautiful vegetation, I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere far away from all the hustle and bustle. It was so serene and we got to see birds, butterflies and a cayman (alligator), then we took a mini safari truck ride. After lunch I wandered the upper and lower trails which wound through all the greenery and had amazing views of several of the different falls. I canīt believe how many there were! There was one around every bend! The whole 2 days were such an incredible experience.
