I was quite happy to arrive in Chile. It was finally hot again yay!!!! and I was more than happy to be out of the high altitudes of the mountains (my ears finally stopped popping). Not too much to report about this town, it is essentially just a mini desert town that exists for tourists. Mainly the focus is on the desert crossing or day trips into it which we had just completed 3 days of, so it was a good stop for some much needed R & R (basically just a couple of patio parties). The town itself was quite cute but it almost didnīt seem real to me, like it was a setting of a town for a movie or something. It had dirt roads, no cars really and all these really nice wooden lamposts that lit up at night to give it a surreal feel. There was a musuem about the local cultures from ancient times which I obviously visited and found quite interesting, however, there was nothing after the arrival of the Spaniards. So I was curious as to what happened between now and then to make it into the restaurant mecca that it is.
