So my adventures started a little like this...after learning that people don't have actual adresses in San Jose I looked more closely at the information the school had sent me and this is where I learned the adress to my house went a little something like this...the School of Napoleon, 2 blocks north, 75 meters east, the papaya coloured house...I kid you not this was my actual adress...hmm...but all is well I got some assistance and landed there safely.
My mama tica as they are called was super nice and a great cook *finally back on a healthy diet of tasty beans yay*. I'm so glad I chose the homestay option I learned so much more Spanish this way...especially since we had coffee almost everyday. There was also another student staying there from a different school who was awesome so it was a lot of fun. The house is located in a suburb of San Jose called Zapote and my school was really close
The first day there was a group lunch to get to know the other students which was nice. Then on the Tuesday I opted to take the trip. First we went to the Volcano Irazu. It was so beautiful!!! And it's one of if not the highest point in Costa Rica. We were up in the clouds it was so cool...I felt like I should've been in an airplane! Then afterward we went to the city of Cartago to see the Basilica. It was incredible, possibly one of my most favourite churches that I've ever been in. It was different from most churches I've seen in that the interior was all wooden and painted instead of marble or stone. It was just so amazing! Then the next day I went to salsa and merengue lessons. It was a lot of fun but hmmm I'm not quite sure I'm meant to move that way although I tried really hard and really enjoyed myself.
One night I also went to see The Goldane Compass with some friends I made at the school. The night started off normal and we went to the mall and got ice cream beforehand
Then on the weekend myself and one of the girls from my class signed up for a coffee tour which was really neat. The tour was almost like a show with actors that were quite comical. It was really informative...we started out in the field where we learned about the plants themselves and the conditions necessary to grow coffee. Then we learned all about the process and got to tour the actual factory..then there was a short film all about coffee's history and its origins which I liked. Afterward there was a fantastic lunch.
Now I'm back in downtown San Jose for the night and heading off to Peru early in the morning.

Volcano Irazu
. COSI my school was incredible! I went to school every day for 4 hours and then in the afternoon there were optional excursions to places of interest. Also every morning they put out fresh fruit and coffee for all the students. It was truly a great experience and I'm so happy I had the opportunity to do it.The first day there was a group lunch to get to know the other students which was nice. Self Explanatory
. Then when we went to leave the mall was closed, and the theaters are on the top floor. So we took the elevator down to the main floor but it was in complete darkness! So we had to find a security guard to let us out...it was weird walking through this large mall in the dark...but the movie was quite good. Then on the weekend myself and one of the girls from my class signed up for a coffee tour which was really neat.
