I take it all back!  Eastern Ohio is beautiful.  We really enjoyed our time here.  We camped at Barkcamp State park located in Belmont County, the heart of the Ohio coal mining region.  The county is the state's largest producer with about 5700 million tons of coal available.

Southeast Ohio is one of the most heavily forested areas in the state.  Barkcamp is the site of a former logging camp where bark was stripped from logs before being sent to the mill, hence the name.  The campgrounds are thick with lush vegetation and many hiking trails, bridle/snowmobile paths, and a swimming lake.  Would love to spend time here in the winter and enjoy activities like ice skating, sledding, cross country skiing, ice fishing and ice boating.

Well NYC is calling, so as much as we'd like to stay another day...we're gonna roll on.
