That's Rest and Write: Rest from the Ethiopia Excursions,
Write Entries in this travel blog, but more importantly,
Begin writing plans and proposals to bring back
To convince our fellow Rotarians of the need / value of Ethiopia aid.
We stayed here in the 'Backpacker's District',
A major change in venue from my past visit here,
That was a genteel touristy visit. Purists will sniff:
Every other person on street here is Western, mostly students
Farmer plowing his fertile field
!Is this the real Bangkok of the 21st Century?
Or is the real Bangkok innumerable temples or Wats?
Or is it the King's Royal Barges?
or is it row upon row of modern high rises?
Perhaps I am jaded by this and past visits to:
Emerald Buddhas, Gold Buddhas, Reclining Buddhas
You remember the Emerald Buddha is really jade or jadeite
But I suspect Bangkok is really a glorious mix of all!
