. Later Ronnie brought me to the bus stop where I hopped onto a bus to Maitencillo to meet 5 of my friends in a cabin they had rented for the night. I got there right at sunset and took advantage of the beautiful lighting and snapped a few shots. then i had to walk a few miles back to their cabin because i had missed their stop because a woman named Flabia who i was sitting next to on the bus told me to get off at the wrong stop. Flabia was an older Chilena who guessed that i was 16 years old and couldnt believe that i was traveling so far north just to stay one night with a few friends. She told me her address and where I could come to see her in Ligua, a city a little farther north than Maitencillo...
So we cooked a beautiful dinner with pasta and bread and ham and red sauce and drank some red wine (legally!!) and had a really nice evening dancing and singing to american music... we tried to search for a little more night life around midnight but couldnt find anything and returned to our cabana. The next day we ate greasy empanades and took a beautiful stroll on the beach. that's all for now!
Just finishing up a beautiful and relaxing weekend... On Saturday I went with Ronnie and Margarita to a cookout called an Asado with all of their friends and colleagues from the bookstore. I piled into a tiny volkswagen lent to us by a family friend with ronnie, margi, andrea, her boyfriend and his son. Five of us in this miniscule little car without seatbelts in the backseat. And andrea and her boyfriend are not small people! But we made it to this beautiful piece of land about 25 minutes north of Valparaiso called ConCon where their friends own a small cabin near a Eucalyptus plantation. They served us delicious fatty chorizos when we arrived and followed it up with grilled chicken and carne asada. Every family brought a serving of vegetables like lettuce and avocado (which they call palta) with a lemon sauce and onions with balsamic vinagrette (gross) and corn with mayo or just tomatoes and cucumbers... it was delicious though! After I ate enough food to feed a small communtiy, I went for a walk around their land with Ronnie which are some of the photos that you can see
