Forgot to mention in previous blog a big thank you to Michel for his generous hospitality as a couchsurfing host. You are welcome to visit us anytime, Michel.
Am currently sitting in a McDonald's near our hotel in Southampton. Hotel wifi charges are outrageous but it was rather complicated logging on here as well. Had to get a couple of 'young lads' to help me out!
Arrived on time in Portsmouth this morning after a most enjoyable trip with Brittany Ferries. We can highly recommend their service. No need for sea sickness tablets. Didn't even feel like we were on a boat. Then we got a taxi to the train station before catching all stops train to Southampton arriving an hour later. A 5 minute walk to the hotel found Julia and Geoff in the foyer waiting for us. Got into our room early so dropped of bags before adjourning to Maccas for a late breakfast. J&G had a hire car for two days so we joined them for the day driving through The New Forest area in pouring rain most of the time. Not good for sightseeing or photo taking unfortunately. Had lunch at a pub along the way and ventured out to visit a couple of little villages but in the end the weather got the better of us. So I am here, Geoff has returned the car, Col is having a siesta and Julia reading.
Tomorrow we board Royal Caribbean's 'Adventures of the Sea' cruise liner for our 12 night Baltic Cruise. Can't wait to unpack the bags and live out of cupboards and drawers for a while!
Will try to write a final blog from land tomorrow morning and then I'm not too sure what the wifi arrangements are on this ship for future entries.
Apologies for quality of photo - guess the waiter who took the photo wasn't' skilled in photography!

Sounds as if cycling and sightseeing in France was a great experience despite the variable weather. Please order better for us when we arrive in Europe in 10 days time. We are packing our thermals as well as our shorts! Have a great cruise - I know you will.

Have enjoyed all the pics.
