I think Iīm going to have to update this more often, or just be quite vague. Itīs been over a week since my last entry and Iīm struggling to remember everything thatīs happened. Iīve been thinking about how I am going to use this blog.. Up until now Iīve pretty much just written everything thatīs happened. But there are things that Iīve experienced here that I canīt say incase I embarrass someone, or myself, like the results of a converastion that started Do you have hairy balls? Or things that are private things and feelings that have going round my head in the past few days. So Iīll try to keep it light, like a relentless postcard...

So I think I was going to a tour of the city when I stopped last time.. I should say that I didnīt really mention too much about the 2 girls who I met at the bus stop in Iguazu, who Iīve subsequently been travelling with for the last week and a half. They buy me a beer a day to be their unofficial tour guide...or merandering buffoon. Well I went on this city tour with them, Amanda and Jodie. This is where you can get all the tourist stuff out of the way in one day... done. Christ the Redeemer had some pretty good views and was an incredible statue, but if I had my way, they should have made one of Marty Mcfly and the Doc in the pose from the cover of Back to the Future 2. Thats a statue! Sugarloaf Mountain was big and windy and also enjoyable.. We also went to this cathedral that looked like a Darlek from the outside... To be honest, it looked shit from the outside. But from the inside, it was absolutely stunning! When I can figure out the simplest technology to man I will upload some photos. I may have killed one too many brain cells..

That night I went out with everyone from my hostel. We went to a bar called... something in brazillian.. in Lapa where I would be able to meet up with Marina from Buenos Aires. She was there with her brazillian friend who she had managed to spend the whole time not swearing infront of.. until I got there. Am I really that much of a bad influence? That was a nice evening, and I really enjoy talking to (swearing with) Marina. However, we decided to go to a club back in Copacabana that someone had heard of called Help. We arrived in different taxis and some people decided to go back to the Hostel, some people didnīt get in, so it ended up being me, another brit, an australian girl, 2 palestinians, and 200 prostitutes. This was a bad place... for bad people. Someone had said earlier that there would be a few there and to to avoid them... I had a better chance of avoiding my legs than the prostitutes in this place. The only other people who were there were about 20 slimey middle aged men. So we had a drink and left.

The next day, the sun came out! Hooray! So I went to the beach! Hooray! I got horrifically burnt! Hooray! I looked like I had been wearing a couple of George Foreman Lean Mean GrillinīMachineīs as shoulder pads. Pretty... I have only just started going back out on the beach again.

Amanda and Jodie were staying at a hostel around the corner from mine called El Misti. I spent more time there than at my own hostel. Thereīs no TV at their hostel so they are forced to talk to people. I met some great people and spent quite a few nights there last week that nearly always ending in debauchary.. Caligula had nothing on these guys. I was merely a... well wisher in alot of circumstances you understand.

One of those nights at about 1 oīclock people decided to go to the beach to carry on drinking, but I was quite happy talking to Silvia and Christin, my amazing roommates from Iguazu who coincedentally turned up at this hostel.. About 20 minutes after they left for the beach it started to piss down. Hahahahah.... I thought. Then they got mugged.. Hahahahahah.. no wait.. Actually is was quite funny I guess, they didnt seem too bothered by it. It was a couple of opportunistic glue-faced spaz-mongers wielding a bread knife. No one got hurt, they didnīt have much taken, and they have a cool Iīve been mugged story. I think most of them were laughing when they came back and told us...

We went out on Friday to the Street party in Lapa. Like the Favela party, it was a bit scary at first but you get used to it. The kids coming up to you begging at 4 in the morning is slightly harder to get used to, but you do.

Saturday I had to say goodbye to Christin and Sylvia. We had some food and got a bit pissed, played the funny animal drinking game. It was so sad to say goodbye to these girls that i got on with so effortlessly. Iīve met so many people that youīre best friends with for a few days, and then youīre never likely to see them again, but there are definitely a few who I will want to see further along my travels, or when I get home like Christin and Sylvia. Iīm going to have to part ways with Jodie and Amanda on Friday night which is going to be really hard.. Itīs been like having a little gang..

Right now Iīm in Ilha Grande, a beautiful island to the south west of Brazil. Itīs a massive contrast to the relatively hectic, dirty, scary Rio. Iīve been here since Sunday (Oh god, getting here was a mission... The horror...the horror...), and have been relaxing on the beach. Itīs been amazing. Monday we trekked (thats right, I trekked...) for over 2 hours to get to the other side of the mountain down to Lopus Mendez, one of the top 10 beaches in the world, and we were the only ones there! It was (Iīm running out of words for amazing... my english is terrible. I probably speak better French.. No of course I dont what a stupid thing to say. I īve actually met a couple of French girls in the past few days, needless to say they were impressed... but it turns out neither of them knew where the biblioteque was..) stupendous(??).

Ok, Iīm clearly getting tired now. I īm gonna go have a shower to get the sand out of  my brain then go get drunk. Tonight is my last night in paradise.... I want to be able to forget it in style.
