Day 63
So after my last long bus ride in South America I arrived in Lima early morning. There is a strange kind of haze over the city during the Winter months. Once again I had not booked a hostel so I thought I'd try my luck with a hostel that had been recommended to me. I caught a taxi there dropped off my bags. There was no vacancy when I arrived but they said there might be some later. I thought I would take my chances and go exploring.
So I was now actually in Miraflores which is on the coast. There was some small surf. Once again it felt nice to see the ocean. I think I am definitely supposed to live by the surf
Continuing to wander around I came across a shopping centre (Larcomar) that is built into the cliff face overlooking the ocean. Lots of nice modern shops there. It looks like I may have left the personable markets behind now.
There were some very modern buildings around. Well with all this walking it was high time for lunch. Amazing! I went to lunch at this place called Punto Azul which specialised in all things seafood. Wow, I enjoyed pimiento relleno (stuff capsicum/pepper with mixed seafood in a spicy creamy sauce) and cerviche (mixed raw seafood with some delicous sauce). This was all for 30 soles ($10 AUD). This was quite possibly the best meal I have ever had. My tastebuds were alight with the flavour. So next time you are in Miraflores I recommend you call into Punto Azul for a meal, delicious!
Well time to continue strolling around. I visited another shopping centre. In comparison to home the clothes and pretty much everything were so cheap. I was might tempted to stock up on all my clothes for when I arrive in London. But I couldn't be bothered
So back at the hostel I got chatting and partying with a few random travellers. I had also organised to meet a friend that I had made when I visited Santiago, Chile (he lives in Lima - great guy). So that was fantastic to meet up. So being my last night in South America I enjoyed one helluva party. The club we went to was packed out (on a Tuesday night) with many festive folks. By the way the Peruvian women are gorgeous and know how to shake it. Well eventually went back to the hostel - presumably for sleep.
Day 64
Sleep. NO WAY. Back at the hostel, the party crew were all still well awake and having a few more drinks and laughs. Some hilarious banter and jokes continued. By this stage there really was no point in going to sleep. So I said my cheerios and got my gear together and headed off to the airport.
Well I must admit that I felt slightly sad to be leaving South America. A place that had given me an amazing adventure with so many brilliant experiences. The places I had seen and the people I met were all going to long remain fond memories for me and give me many stories to tell at the bar. But alas the adventure was not over yet. So on the plane and off to Mexico. Adios mi amigos en Sur America!

Miraflores Road
. The beach itself did not look that alluring. I guess I am not that used to black sandy/rocky beaches. Miraflores has very steep cliff faces which seem to drop straight down to the beach. I am told in the Summer the beaches are constantly packed with locals.Continuing to wander around I came across a shopping centre (Larcomar) that is built into the cliff face overlooking the ocean.
