In the three hours of daylight that remain of the day by the time I checked into my 100 year old guest house (http://bannkunpra.com), I rent a bike and manage over 150 pictures despite the lack of good light conditions. You’d think I had my fill of temples and can’t see any more. This city and its dozens (if not hundreds) of ruins manages to still excite me. Lucky me, gets to save a few bucks on entry fees as well. 'Why’ I ask the gate keeper at the first temple. "Today birthday my king" she sais. Well, happy birthday then! ;)
The weather is insanely hot and humid
Two days later, I am back in the train to Bangkok for one last night, before heading back to Chiang Mai, where I also have some undone things to do and sights to see. In those last few hours, I have my back fixed with one of the best massages had in SEA at www.healthland.com, live it up a little at a jazz and night club with one of the Couchsurfers I mentioned in my last entry and chill at the hostel waiting for my flight. Waiting, right……the thing with that flight was that I thought it leaves after 5pm. Should have checked to confirm that the day before. I didn’t. Not until 12.58pm the day of. Thing is that the flight didn’t depart after 5pm like I thought for some mysterious reason. It had left at 12.50pm. Doh! And duh! Such silliness, I can’t even stress about it, but only laugh at. So I book another flight for that evening. Thankfully they are not exorbitantly pricy here.
