Wine (and beer) tasting in Napier

After leaving Auckland on the day after the Big day out, we headed through Taupo taking a detour via a strange geothermal area, and eventually got to Napier.
We were staying here for a couple of days with the intention of hiring bikes and then cycling round the wineries, taking in some scenery, and obviously trying some wine. We decided that we'd go out for a couple of drinks on the Saturday night, resulting in a big night out with loads of photos taken and also some embarrasing video clips of us dancing..... Anyway, woke up on Sunday with what can only be described as low motivation for cycling round and visiting wineries. But all plans were put on hold when we discovered that some scumball had smashed a hole in the back window of Kate's car. Such a pointless thing to do - they took nothing from the car, even though my mp3 player was plugged into the tape thingy.... So the afternoon was spent hovering the car in an attempt to remove all the broken glass, and then fixing up a temporary window - which was basically a bin liner secured with masking tape. Thankfully the weather was really hot and sunny, so there was no problem with any of us getting wet or cold in the car.
So plans were put on hold for the wineries, and we went off to Cape Kidnappers instead - a place outside of Napier where loads of gannets live. We didn't get to walk all the way up to there because of the low tide, so just chilled out on the beach instead. More thumbnails ...
