We got a taxi straight to Haadrin and tried to check in to the place where Saffrons friends Paddy and Mark were staying, with no success, so we settled for the Anan (or Anal as we affectionatley called it) for the night, which was right oin seafront but full of manc's, to sit and chill and shower before food. We went out that evening, where I had my first Gat Pow Moo, Kai Dow, minced porked and chilli n rice with fried egg on top. MMM MMMMMM Lusho!! Twad spicy too! We went to watch to football after West Ham Man utd, and blow me West Ham won, so Dunc and Laura were chuffed, so called it a night and went back to Anal!...

Got up and checked out, the guesthouse had been noisy and awful, so Dunc and Sarah had gone off to find somewhere else, which they did with success, we moved to the Bonga Bungalows, for half the price and better rooms, although where Laura and I wrre situated on the beack, it was noisy!!!
So after we had all moved in, we met up with Paddy and Mak for a few games of pool, and a bit of trainspotting before they headed off to Ko Samui for the afternoon/evening. We went for lunch at Home Restaurant, which was rubbish, although I did get burger envy when Duncans came out!!! We went for a coupke of drinks on the beach before retiring early to bed, although the noise from beach kept Laura and I awake until 6am, gutted!!
31/12/07 - New Years Eve
Got up and Laura Dunc and I went for brekkie, then headed down to the beach for a chilled sunbathing day. We had only been there about an hour, when a load of Thai people came walkng down the beach, singing and dnacing to drums, while handing out roses to the tourist! It was a nice touch and showed they were making the effort to celebrate with us. We got up and went for some food, before going back to our rooms to get ready, had even bumped into the people from hinckley we had met in Hoi An, so arranged to meet everyone at Cactus bar at 9.30pm
So we were getting ready in our room battling with the sweat and the straightners, eventually gave up with both and hair went back in a head band.................we walked down to the beach and commenced with the buckets, we managed to meet up with everyone and gather random chairs and tables to create our own little plot on the beach, and then Chloe and Ben had made it over from Ko Samui on one of the longtail boats, so we all had a greta night, and a pissed upo and happy new year, the fireworks were obviously cool, and everyone had fun, the beach was absolutely packed but we still managed to bump into Frank who we had met in Siem Reap! Again small world. We all seemed to seperate and go to bed at different points as soon as the rains came down It was only Saff and I left on the beach, amongst many other people so called it a night, just before sunrise......

This day was a non starter really, Laura came and woke me up at around 3pm, followed shortly by Saff at 3.30 they made me get up and shower, and then 3 us fell asleep on the bed again, until we were rudely awakened by Paddy, calling for us to go for a swim in the choppy sea!!! Sod that, but we went to watch for laugh!!! They were in and out within 5 mins, knackered! So we took a walk up serenity hill, for a drink etc.
We then went and got everyone else up and went for dinner, we treated ourseles to western food, and decided to go for burgers! As I went to do the prep on me food, take burger apart, amke it neat and tidy add sauce etc, the tommy sauce exploded all over my CLean trousers, looked like I had been shot!!! And they were clean, you do not appreciate how much a clean pair of trousers means to you until you are travelling!!! So we moved on from there after disappointing food, to try and find a film or something to watch, we were unsuccessful so went down to beach for a coupke a drinks and a cracking game of Eye Spy, carzy fools!! Then we had a a walk down the beach and back again before saying farewells to Mark and Paddy, who were leaving the next day!

We got up and checked out of Bongo, and headed off for Haad Salat. We decided to go and check out My way bungalows recommended by some of me beeeatches! We arrived there and althogh wetaher was not brilliant, it was quiet and cheap at 300baht per bungalow, and massive 1.70 each!!! So we went for some dinner there and then thought we would go mental and have a Bang Lassi, alas no ice!!! So we ventured up to the Reggae bar where they were over double the price, so we settled for some b52's instead!

BEA > U> ti ful sleep, as soooooo quite, so all got up at around the same time and headed up to Jay Jay's for Brekkie, Me Laura and Dunc had Reggae burgers, which consisted of 2 homemade burgers, bacon egg tomato and chips, it was massive and made up for the mockery of a sham burger we had had in Haadrin!!!! We then went and wished family and friends happy new year on Interweb, before gong back to bungalows to relax fro the rest of the day and write some postcards, we had arranged to leave Koh Phangan the following day to Ko Tao to meet Gary and Lisa, so fairly early night.
