We arrived in Chi Minh City at around 7.30pm after a 12 hour bus journey and checked into a hotel right on the main street, name is escaped me, but wouldn't ness recommend anyway, the staff were rude.

So next day 18/12/07 we visited the Cu Chi Tunnels it was really interesting, It's where the Vietnamese communist hid "during the war". We actually got to go down part of the tunnels themselves, but these had been widened for us fat westerners. We were told we could go down and the tunnel was 100 metres, but there were a few points along the way, where you could come out before the end, we made it to the first out point, and that was it!! It was so claustrophobic and dark, you could hardly breath! We got back at lunchtime which seemed a perfect time to eat, so went for lunch and had Pho, the traditional Vietnamese soup thing they have for brekkie, well when in Vietnam..........It was rubbish to be fair, no taste to it, so after adding ,mucho chilli and soy sauce was bearable.

Went back to hotel to use free internet ( it's 1 good point) bumped into Chloe, Small world!!! So arranged to me her for dinner! Met up later that night, and then eventually Ben arrived so we all went for dinner and few bevvies at Guns n Roses bar! ROCK ON!
Had to call it a night as we were leaving in the morning for Cambodia....
