Well we had to be up early and ready to get bus to Siem Reap, and we were thr only Westerners on the bus, which then lead to us being stared at the whole way to Siem reap by the little cambodian children, they eventually started smiling at us once they had got over the shere whiteness of Sarah and Saffron.....  The Bus journey itself was awful, clapped out old bus with people sat in the gangway, but sure we will go on worse!!!

We arrived in Siem Reap at a dusty old bus station, and they basically locked us in, until we were ready to face our public, or rather the gaggle of Tuc Tuc drivers waiting to whisk you away!  So we settled on a Tuc Tuc driver and went to seek accomodation!

The Lonely Liar had suggested a few places, which we checked out, but they were full, so we gave in to the Tuc Tuc driver and let him take us to the place he had suggested.  The Garden Village Guesthouse, GREAT DECISION!!!  It had a roof Terrace, with TV, Pool, music and chillin areas, and the rooms were $7 between the 3 of us!  It was ace. The people we met here were great, and the beer was only $0.50 a glass, so straight onto the beers!!!

We met some guys from Israel, who had never tasted Marmite, well one of them, so I let him taste mine, he was close to death when he helped himself to another teaspoon, yes I have bought Marmite with me!

23/12/07 - Today we decided to have another chilled day, so we eventually got up at about 11am afetr being rudely awaken by DIY Dave banging randomly on a pipe, plus we have a temple right near the guesthouse, that has the ole fella singing and having a good ole prey so many time a day at all hours.  So went up onto Roof terrace where we met up with the fellas we had met on the previous night, and watched a film - Death at a Funeral, well funny, then we off for some lunch.  Lunch was at Blue Pumpkin, again recommended by Lonely Liar, it was expensive and not worth it, although the air con was dream!  We got vack to the Guesthouse and had a couple of drinks and watched a couple of lads movies before we went out for dinner to restaurant called Khmer Kitchen, where supoosedly Mick Jagger has eaten, well if it's good enough for Mick......  We had Amok Fish and Rice, flippin gorgeous!!! And only $2.50 so cheap like the budgie!!!  One thing Lonely Liar has right thus far!

24/12/07 - Christmas Eve

We finally got round to going to Angkor Wat, and Wat a day.... And one more Bayon
And one more Bayon
See what I did there!!!!  It was really flippin hot, and we it was tough going!  The Temples were numerous and really amazing - there was a part within the actual temple of Angkor where you stand in a doorway and bang your chest, and the bass the goes up through the dorrway from the vibrations was mental!!!  Because we had been too lazy to get up for sunrise we hung around for sunset, so basically spent arounf 7 hours looking round these amazing temples and then walked up this hill to another temple for Sunset, was definately an experience!!  We got back to our Guesthouse around 7.00 and had arranged to meet up with all still remaining people we had met for Christmas eve Ecstatic Pizza!  We went out with an array of people from America, Holland, Germany and we also met up with Cathy, who we had met at Doha Airport on our way out.  We had a great time, and then we went back to the guesthouse and the little bugger would not serve us anymore beer, saying it had ran out, when there was blatantly some left in the fridge!!  None of us could be bothered to go to the shop after oru "HAppy" pizza, so we waited for till midnight, said Merry Christmas and all went to bed!

25/12/07 - Christmas Day - Got up at 11.30 am and it was strange to be not at home once you realised what the day was!  We opened our cards " THANKS EVERYONE"  and then went off for Breakfast.  I didn't feel too good, Lady time, so after we booked our bus tickets to Thailand for the following day, I went back to guesthouse for a lay down!!!  When I felt better I went up to terrace and sat with Illboy Mike, whose mates had eventually left him in Siem Reap with his plague,  he was due to go with them but was too ill to travel, so stayed back a couple of days, and then was due to catch them up.  So sat with him and watched boy films before Jessica, Arneigh, and a cambodian Tuc Tuc and us 3 went for Crimbo dinner down the Khmer Kitchen.  Then called home and spoke to Me Mum and Dave, and lil Jade before heading back to guesthouse for a few games of pool.

Next day we left Siem Reap, but was a really brillaint time and really lovely people, it will certainly take some beating. Angkor wat at distance
