Loved Hoi An - a really quirky little town almost completely taken over with tailor shops - actually shopping heaven - but dotted with markets, restaurants (go to cafe Des Amis - lots of fun and great food, very original) and bars too. Spent quite a bit of time getting clothes made, including a Naomi Watts dress, smart work clothes and a bridesmaid dress (hope you like it, Carole!!) Had a great time whizzing around on the backs of motorbikes - although did fear for my life on the way to the Full Moon bar , I swear he was pushing 100m/h. We did survive however and enjoyed being the only punters there for a couple of hours ("Hoi An is now sleeping, but the Full Moon bar is heaving..."?? Hmmm...)- we were eventually joined by a few others and had a brilliant night, returning to our hotel at 5 to discover it had a curfew; luckily a man sleeping in the foyer was letting some girls out so we snuck in with our heads down! The best moto journey was back and forth to the beach - very typical Vietnemese landscapes and images of daily life, plus the beach was lovely - besides being pestered every two minutes - "Lady, would you like a book/ a massage / a pineapple / some water / a friend... Maybe later? Later? Later?" - arrrrghhhh, it was endless! Also took a day trip to My Son, once the centre of Champa culture apparently, but now ruins due to bombings. A really fascinating place. From Hoi An we took another mamma journey to Nha Trang...
