Flew from Hong Kong to Bangkok. Was really weird coming into the airport - in some ways it felt like I had only left home yesterday and then moments later it felt like the last time I'd been there was ages ago - the time is flying, yet lots of my memories already feel distant. Scary stuff.

My cousin, Sharon, came to meet me at the airport, so I wandered into arrivals with that dumb searching look on my face whilst people earnestly waved signs at me. I hadn't seen Sharon for a good few years now, so I was worried I wouldn't recognise her, but we finally spotted each other and hopped into a taxi escaping the airport mayhem, full of English louts and cautious worried looking girls. Relaxed for a bit back at Sharon's very lovely apartment and then went to meet her friends to get a brief look at the night markets and watch the English match. Not gonna mention the game, apart from to say it was rubbish, as I'm sure it'll bring back traumatic feelings for many of you! Anyway, went out drinking in an ex-pat bar called Wong's post game, although I imagine I was no fun as I was nearly falling asleep on my pint - was so tired from the limited sleep I had been allowed in Shanghai and from my double flight. Went back to Joanne's place after the bar and sat around talking - despite my subdued state I made it to 6 before crawling into bed still fully dressed with smudged eyes (well, 5 in Thailand, but I was on China time still!)

The next day we had a lengthy lie in and then a shop in Siam. Ate in a Mexican Restaurant where I was spoilt with a lot of cheese - mmmm, drooling just thinking about it. Also, bought some more DVDs to add to my growing collection - gonna spend a week in bed watching films and recovering from all my going when I return home! Sharon was at work the next day, so I went for a swim (so good) before impressing myself by getting around on the sky trains and the metro station. Splashed out on some super cheap clothes and then met Sharon and Joanne for another gorgeous meal. Left for Cha'am the next day... The start of a new adventure...
