Michelle (my sister's friend) met me at the airport, as she very kindly let me stay at her apartment for three nights. On the first evening, she showed me where all the local stuff is and then I indulged myself with a very long bubble bath! So good!
Coincidentally, Michelle's housemate, Amber, had a friend staying too, who arrived on the same day, so whilst Michlle and Amber went to work, Nadia and I did some sightseeing together. After a good lie in we took a picnic to "The Peak" - had a helter-skelter type bus ride up to the top, then took one of the walks around. You're meant to see the whole of Hong Kong pretty much, but we basically saw lots of mist and cloud - which was actually really cool. It looked really mystical; like a fairy story or something, very enchanting. Every now and then we got some good glimpses of the world below, so it was worth it.
Took the ferry to a small island the next day, which was a delightful little place; very traditional China. Explored the village, looking at the shops, stalls and the main temple, before chilling out for awhile on the beach. That evening the four of us enjoyed a good night out in town - including an hour of free vodka plus mixer (no catches) for an hour at Carnegies - good times!
The next day I flew to Yantai, China...

01 At the top of the Peak
Also browsed through the shops at the top and had a naughty (but mini) doughnut! Took the tram back down after it got dark which went reasonably fast and practically at 90degrees to the mountain - lots of fun! Took a bus back to central with loads of drunk middle-aged Chinese women (so funny) and met with Amber, who took us to the night markets and for a Chinese dinner. Unfortunately the famous markets were having a quiet night so there were only a few stalls - although probably best for the purse strings!Took the ferry to a small island the next day, which was a delightful little place; very traditional China.
