Landed and then had to wait for ages for a pick up that never came - really annoying especially when all we wanted was a good sleep! Finally got to our hostel and loved it immediately - friendly staff, a hang out on the roof and very funky art work and graffiti everywhere. Brilliant!

The town we were staying in was called King's Cross and it was so seedy! Prostitutes, strip joints and drug dealers all over the place - couldn't believe it. Definitely worse than London's King's Cross - it's so shameless even in the day time! However, we didn't really spend much time there apart from in the lovely hostel and the evenings which is actually very popular with regular, non-trashy people for pubbing and clubbing. Had a couple of great nights out and met some cool people.

Had to cram loads in to our days because there is so much to do in Sydney and we didn't have that long there Being a monkey on the bridge??

. Bought a hop on / hop off bus tickets and saw loads of sights including Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge - so amazing to see them for real. Also spent quite a bit of time wandering around the Botannical gardens and reminiscing over our trip. Went to Darling Harbour where we zipped around on the mono rail and went to see 'Sharks' at the Imax theatre - so cool!

Used our ticket the next day also because we discovered on the first day that they never actually check it - doh! Went to the Australia museum which was so much fun. Had a special exhibit on called "How to make a Monster", as well as displaying unbelievable wildlife photography and having a very creepy room full of skeletons including a real human one and a huge elephant in the middle of the room - I was genuinely a bit scared - jumped whenever there was a noise! We also went to the Powerhouse museum for a Kylie exhibit - you can imagine how excited I was! It had loads and loads of her costumes - the gold hotpants and the white robe and all! It also had most of the costumes from the concert I saw which was really cool to see up close - I love Kylie! We drove past Star City's fountains and revisited Harbour Bridge - this time we went up to the Look Out as well as wandered over it for some stunning city views before a stroll through The Rocks - a fancy little arty area with lovely eateries, posh designer gear (Gucci and co.) and art shops - very nice Our crazy hostel door - creepy!!

.

Spent one of the sunny days walking from Coogee to Bondi Beach - chilled out for an hour or so at Bondi - mmmmm....Also did an evening walk from where we were staying into the city - Hyde Park at night is so amazing, it's really pretty, I loved it.

On our last night it was the Mardi Gras Festival - the huge Gay and Lesbian festival. Went to watch the parade with some friends from our hostel - it was absolutely hilarious. Loads of outrageous costumes and "Hey sista"'s everywhere you looked. Pretty wild evening- it opened with what they call the "dykes on bikes" - let's just say it was colourful!

So that was it for the East coast :( From Sydney we flew to Perth...
