After arriving back from the Great Ocean Road trip we were pretty tired, having had about three hours sleep n' all, but we felt we should do something, so we caught a tram into the city centre (we were staying in St. Kilda) and had a wander around. Cities look amazing all lit up at night time. Melbourne has a similar feel to London - tall, grand buildings and wide roads, but not so hectic.

The next day we decided we better check out what it was like in the day time, but this was harder than expected because it was pouring down with rain for most of the day. We did manage to get in to the centre relatively dry and spent a couple of hours moseying around the shops and drooling over clothes and accessories. We went out that evening in St. Kilda with a girl, Jo, from our hostel and had a fabulous time dancing to our heart's contents in a couple of clubs.

Took a visit to Richmond on Sunday with another girl, Laura, from our hostel. Richmond is basically a long street of discount shops and outlet centres - we went there in seek of Accessorize (a lady in Brisbane had gushed about it) and when we found it, we were very happy, believe me. Bought a few bits n' bobs that day - very naughty of me.

That evening we met up with Ros from the Great Ocean Road trip and went to the Moonlight Cinema in the Botanical Gardens. It was so cool - loads of people were all snuggled up under blankets and on futons or bean bags drinking wine with a huge inflatable cinema in front of them while the stars twinkled above. 01 Caz and me

Just like something from a movie. 'Narnia' was playing which seemed to really suit the setting - lovely evening all round.

The next day, however, was the best hands down. The day I had been waiting for... Oh yes, you've guessed it - we went to Ramsey Street. Our 'Official Neighbours Tour Bus" pulled up and eagerly we (well, I) climbed in to be greeted with pop videos from the likes of Kylie (of course), Jason Donovan, Stefan Dennis and Craig McLaughlin - so funny - and the Anniversary documentary. We drove by the studios where our guide revealed some of the future storylines and then off to Erinsborough High (actually a language school called something else entirely), and then onto the best bit - Ramsey Street. It was very surreal and much smaller than the show makes it look - no street cricket could be played there without a few smashed windows. Got rather carried away and took many photos.

Went to the Observation Deck in the afternoon to get some amazing views of the city and beyond. But the day continued to get better, because that evening was indeed 'Neighbours Night'. Prepare to be jealous - Paul Robinson kissed me!! Swoon!! Also rubbed shoulders with Max and Janae - all seemed very nice indeed! A very funny night drinking and dancing with some guys from our hostel, Sam and Conal - didn't make it to bed til about 7 in the morning (went to our second club at about 3) - brilliant!

Sadly we had to leave the next day, but not without one final adventure - a coach to the wrong airport! But we got there in the end (after forking out waaay more than necessary, damn it!)

Eh?
What's this about Caz and Karl? Is she the new Susan? What a player.

Re: Reuniting an old flame?!
Sorry to report Dr Karl (the love doctor!) was not present - but I'm sure that if he was, he probably would have proposed to Caz - it's all about the timing girls! Also sad to say I did not get Paul's number - but I blame it on the bouncers - he was dragged away just a moment before he was about to do it - timing! Next time I'm in Melbourne...
