Faithful reader, to follow up on the excellent adventure, the bogus journey, the  Singapore Sling, the Hong Kong Phooey and the Boomerang Tour - we present the temples, tropics and tapirs trip, two and a half months in southeast Asia. And I'm certainly not cold now.

The happy winner of our flight custom this time was Emirates, and I have to say that I'm impressed; comfy new plane, really good food and little twinkly stars on the ceiling too. The cheap seats involved a stop at Dubai, a bus tour of the airport, a three hour layover, another stop at
Colombo (where at least we didn't have to get off the plane) before finally staggering into Singapore 20 hours later. Just had a very pleasant day in the botanical gardens where there is a lovely cool breeze. It is Chinese New Year next week, beginning as we take the train into Malaysia on Sunday, but there seem to be plenty of lion dances around here so I'm off to see the first one!
