My journey to Boston (or Bahstan in that brilliant accent) began on the delightful Megabus. As I booked so far in advance it cost me $3.00 to get from New York to Boston. And the Megasbus in America bears to relation to the clapped out old double deckers that form the Megasbus fleet in the UK - there are slick newish motorcoaches with free wi-fi. It is quite the way to travel. I like it much.
I got into Boston in the evening and got rather lost getting to the hostel. The area was a nit of an odd mix of studenty (Berklee School of Music was round the corner) and slightly seemy. The hostel was a bit of a shock ofter my private room at the YMCA but I suppose that this is what I need to get used to now as it is dormitories all the wasy round now. It was fine, but I had the bed right by the air-con unit in the window - thank goodness for earplugs.
I only had one full day in Boston so I tried to cram in as much as possible. I started off in the morning by walking across town and Boston Common to the harbour and the Aquarium. The aquarium was great - they have a turtle called Myrtle and that made me happy. They also had a wicked jellyfish exhibit. I wouldn't want to be in the water with them but they were ace to look at. I then went to watch a 3D film about fishes at the IMAX. Cue lots of leaning backwards as jellyfish fly out of the screen at you.
After the film I popped across the road to Legal Sea Foods to cross of the number one "to do" item in Boston. Proper New England Clam Chowder. It was sublime. I sat up at the bar and ate watching all the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. The Chowder was creamy and hot and perfect for a rainy day in Boston.
When I came out of Legal in a cloud of chowder happiness it had stopped raining so I walked up to Faneuil Hall to have a peek at the replica Cheers set and then hopped on the "T" to Harvard to gawp at the nerds. It is a beautiful university. Then stopped at MIT on the way back for more nerd-gawpage and a great view of the city over the river. Perfect.
It is a great little city and I would like to return when I have more time on my hands - if only for the chowder.

Chowda!
Were you forced by a suspiciously-Kennedy-like yellow politician to say it properly?
I'm jealous. Stuck dealing with shit Irish estate agents and panicking slightly about having nowhere to live at the moment.
Re: Chowda!
'It's Chowdah!' I was thinking of that allt he time that I was there!
Good luck with the estate agents - you are going to need an address soon so I can send you a postcard with a polarbear on it. :-)
