In a fit of bravery I have booked the tickets for the second leg of my
world tour. A very nice man from Round the World Experts beat any other
quote that I had got and I now have my very-expensive-to-cancel tickets!
I had to drop Nairobi off the list as it was adding £900 to my flights
which was rather a shame, but with flights from Manchester to Nairobi
only being around £500, it makes more sense to do it as a seperate trip
when I get back. And by then I will hopefully be a bit braver when it
comes to the great outdoors. Would be a shame to go to Africa and be
too scared to go out on a safari...
So - I will be leaving on the 21st January 2009 and the flight goes like this:
Manchester
Heathrow
Bangkok
Overland to Singapore
Cairns
Overland to Sydney
Auckland
Sydney
Tokyo
Home
At the moment I have a rough idea when I will be where but nothing is
set in stone any further past "Meet Jill in Bangkok on 22nd January"
and I am quite happy about that. The USA/Canada portion of my trip is
having to be so regimentally planned due to time constraints and train
timetables so I am quite revelling in the fact that I have no set
plans. There will be a lot of beach involved in the fisrt couple of
weeks though. Of that I can be sure. And if I get the guts up to do it,
some scuba diving.
