. Snorkeling was great too, but we just didn't have time for diving and there was probably no point anyway because of the storms unfortunately. I did do rock climbing on the last day though...a thing that I had never thought of doing before, but it's one of the best places to do it apparently. It was so much fun but really hard! Obviously I haven't been exactly keeping fir these last few months, but that's probably irrelevant. On the 3rd climb I just couldn't find a foothold and kept swinging away, but I'm glad Sing didn't let me down as I pleaded, because I dug deep and managed to do it and then on the last when I was so tired I kept going and it was a great feeling to manage it! God, I never thought that I would be so active on this holiday!! It's fabulous to learn all these things though, when you're just used to being a lazy sod at home!!
The most beautiful beach that I have ever been to! WOW! This is a place that I would definitely go back to when the weather is better. It's a bit built up but it's still a fabulous. The monsoons hit pretty bad at this time of the year and I've never seen such heavy rain for so long. On our first day it woke me up (with earplugs and hangover) and lasted 3 and a half hours like that without stopping. Then after a 2h break it started all over again and kept going all evening. Anyway, there are 3 beaches. We stayed on East Beach which has mangroves and climbing, but the other beaches are only a 5-10 minute walk away. I saw the West beach first and was blown away, and then Panang floored me! It is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. The nightlife in the Gecko bar was great. Fire dancers, reggae and really strong rum and cokes! A great party vibe and the best staff!....We saw 2 sunrises and we stayed 3 nights! Ben and Sohar did their best to corrupt us! We did a day trip to Koh Phi Phi and among other places, visited The Beach
