Surfing! And we brought the summer with us :)

Now that Iīve left the country, a little note about the roads in Costa Rica (and theyīre probably worse here in Nicaragua). Woah! Forget the Siem Reap-Bangkok road, this place is worse and with mountains! Oh and they have just had the most awful flodding (good for rafting though:). Just look at where Montezuma is on the map and then where Santa Teresa is. I thought that it was about 11 km...It took us 3 hours!
! I honestly thought that I would die in that bus. At one point the men had to get out and dig the road together so that we could make it up a hill. Even the 4WDs were going really slow. My stomach was in knots for the rest of the day. I nearly cancelled the first surf lesson, but those strong waves beat it out of me thankfully! Itīs not like Lahinch there. I was dead chuffed too as Kee-Kay brough out a proper mini surf board for me on the second lesson...Iīm so close! But didnīt realise that I was goofy (right leg forward) till the third lesson. Of course I was going to be goofy!! Great fun though.
So Santa Teresa was a great spot and I would love to back in the high season when the partying really gets started...The owner of brunells had some good stories and a free T-shirt each for Lianne and I, after he snapped us for the website. And Lianne decided to come to Nicaragua with me. Yeah!
Santa Teresa was such a great spot and just what I needed for a few days--itīs surf country and everything closes at 9.30 as itīs still the rainy season. BUT! After 22 days of continuous rain we arrived to glorious sunshine. So, a couple of surf lessons with Enrique or Kee-Kay--Iīm sure thatīs wrong, lots of walking on the endless beach, some shopping and movies later I had completely forgotten about the journey there and had detoxed a small bit.
