. A praying mantis, lots of sloths, Jesus Christ lizards, white faced monkeys, Iguanas galore....and all this is along the coast with beautiful beaches. The town beach is nice too, waves for the first time! We didn't have time for a surfing lesson, but the next place..I think that we came here at the right time though. The forcast was awful, even though we have had perfect weather, and it's the low season, but I can imagine that it gets pretty full the rest of the time. There are a lot of hotels around the place. We had a great day though and tonight we are going to a bar that's in an aeroplane (a bomber, C-123 perhaps?!). I think that it was supposed to go to Nicaragua- a present from the US, but then when the war broke it got stuck in San Jose, only for some enterprising person years later to transport it here to use as a bar....
What a journey! I can't believe how bad my travel sickness is getting. I was so glad that we had to wait 2 and a half hours in San Jose before getting the next bus...but I really wouldn't have if I had known that we would be travelling on the windiest roads through (beautiful) mountains. I nearly died and that's no exaggeration! Then top on that getting stuck in non-moving traffic only half an hour away from our destination....you see travelling has some bad points! Anyway, I'll stop moaning....After being dragged out of bed and told to take this tablet and pull myself together, things started to pick up. We had a nice meal with a lovely white wine and then wanted to check out the town. There wasn't all that much going on in Quepos but we joined a karaoke bar and started into the vodka...Anyway, the smallest national park in Costa Rica is here in Manuel Antonia and we were lucky to have a great guide who had the most amazing pair of eyes and let us take pics through his binoculars
