We set off back down highway 7 in the opposite direction to the day before. It gave us a different view of the area. We stopped at Spring Junction and had a drink then joined Highway 65 to Murchison. We stopped at Maruia Falls, a great head of water plunging into a deep cauldron. We had lunch at Buller Falls Swing bridge where Dave had stopped 7 years earlier. We walked over a scary cable bridge 160 metres long then walked along a path to see a waterfall which was more like a force. This was where the white water rafters went down and the Buller Canon Jet ran the fast water. We returned to the bridge where Dave went on a wire in a harness over the gorge travelling at 30-40 kph. We then drove to our B&B at Murchison, a lovely place next to the river with all mod cons. We both showered after a very hot day explored the area and went out for a steak meal. We had wine and berry fruit draught cider very refreshing and delicious. End of a delightful day.
