We left early, went to countdown to buy provisions and ordered a Marino and Possum wool cardigan for Laura. we then went to Otago museum Discovery world and Tropical Forest spectacular and live butterfly experience. It also had an Edmund Hilary display and stuffed birds and animals of NZ. No charge but we left a donation.
We then drove along south side of Otago bay to our motel at Harington Point. We booked in, Dave had a bad migraine from the night before but was excited to visit the Royal Albatross colony and Fort Taiaroa at the headland of Otage Peninsular. We saw three nesting birds fast asleep incubating their eggs and up to a dozen different birds giving us a flying display in the strong winds. They hovered and glided, masters of the air. We saw masses of other gulls with chicks, also shags, cormorants, seals, and sea lions nestling in their individual spots. We later returned to our motel for a meal and restful evening.
