Since we left Lombok I could tell this one was going to be a special place. At the harbor people were trying to sell us something from necklaces to dope, sunglasses to mushrooms ( the magic ones of course)
The barely seaworthy boat piled up about 25 people and cargo and with its 40 hp Yamaha started the 1 hour trip.
We arrived to a place called the harbor, hard to tell since you jump on the beach and there is no pier, well there is pier but boats do not go there and it is called the art market, of course there is not art either or market for that matter
We took a place at Sirwa which was cheap enough and took a walk around, not a really pretty beach, the water clear but as somebody very well said it It seems that something is about to happen and everybody is waiting for it, but nothing happens!!!
We also choose a place for diving and we found out that they have a party that night, as a matter fact there are 3 parties on Gillie T, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, every week same day, same places???? very civilized!!!
Well to make it short the party was great, the locals immediately know you by name and you find two kind of people the ones that are very friendly and hate to leave and the ones who leave a.s.a.p.
After diving I could tell that we were going to stay for a while. Visibility stay between 50 and 90 feet all the time, the coral in the areas that did not experience dynamite fishing is superb. I was able to do a reef clean up, and discover that they have a program to regrow coral with some kind of electric current and is working really good.
I ended up doing about a dozen dives in here seeing from sharks to Pygmy sea horses, turtles to pipe fish,
Blue Marlin dive center also knows the location of a Japanese wreck from WWII and since it is on 140 feet more or less you need to be Nitrox certified to do it. Our dear Mike was telling me that he will get me certified at Q, but after loosing him I did not care about it. Funny thing, this girl diving with us really wanted to see it, and since she had no much experience she only felt confident if we did it, (1 dive master never asked you if you had air, we have to tell him that my buddy was low, the other one will be gone and you better chased him , and yet another one lost us on the dive,so I decided to do it since it was going to be very cheap and the owner was the instructor and guide on the wreck, so I got Nitrox certified.
Amazing how life works the girl was leaving the next day but they talked to us about a beautiful wall that started at 120 feet and was the best site so we decided to do it too.
Hey who am I to argue with a woman right? On the boat the dive master said that we might see a Mola Mola or Sunfish ( this is not the season) and I told him if we see one I will kiss you.
You should have seen how sweet his eyes got after I kissed him, because my friends WE DID SEE A MOLA MOLA.........
What else could I add, I really enjoyed it Gillie T and I hope I will be back!!!!
P.S. also at the suggestion of our friend we switch places and we stayed at Black Sand a great clean paceful place to stay .....

Thats Right!
Who are you to argue with a woman? We women can do just find arguing with ourselves that you very much!!! HEHEHEHEHE Anyway, I am sure Mike is very proud of you that you got Nitrox certified! You know how he was, always wanted the very best for everyone. A Mola Mola! What a find that must have been as well as kissing the dude! Don't worry, Fritz and I won't tell anyone right Fritz?
I have finally gotten myself back in the water, last week. It finally hit 80 degrees and I was in. So glad too, I have missed it.
I can't wait for you to come back and share your stories. I told Sheryl and Fritz we all must get together one night, maybe at our house? Dinner and stories!
Hugs and Kisses and stay safe
