Thank you guys for your comments !!!!! It really keeps me a little bit closer to home when I hear from you.
A lot of people told me not to bother with Koh Tao, since diving is not that good, merely only for diving students.
Well I really like this place, the island is beautiful, with 2 o3 hills of about 1000 feet, with nice bays and palm trees all around,a real tropical paradise.
For the most part you find a lot of young people learning how to scuba dive and also a few families mostly Germans or from Holland. There are quite a few people in here but the place is very laid back. I am staying on an area called Saree Beach, which is the main one as far as hotels and activities.Bungalows on the beach with all types of accommodations and prices are readily available. My hut is100 feet from the ocean, no ac, Thai toilette and no hot water, but for 500 baht a night it is not that bad, they also have nicer ones but the price it is not for me, mainly I choose this place because it is a little further away so it is very quite but still walking distance to all the main places.
You have an infinity of  bars and restaurants overlooking the ocean, great relaxed music specially at sunset time and as it is true so far, everywhere  the food is great and inexpensive.
At night different places cater to different crowds but always something interesting to see, particularly fire jugglers  doing their tricks at the rhythm of whatever music is playing.
The diving was good , I had good vis on most of them (around 50 feet) , variety is not much but I noticed more schools of fish and bigger too.
I choose a diving center called New Way because  they leave first, which  is a great advantage, you  are not as crowded on the reef.
One thing interesting, everybody rides a bike, locals, tourist, drunks you name it, of course the number one business on the island is Bandages!!!!! They have a name for it, it is a Koh Tao tattoo!!!
I am probably going to stay here a few more days and then will be Malaysia.

Scuba Diving for Students
Doesn't surprise me you would like the dives that others may say to avoid. Maybe that's because we are still students of the sea! (nicer than saying still immature....) Speaking of which Sarah finished her first two check out dives, hopes the weather holds out for the 12th to get the last two. So I plan on being in the water then for pictures. Disapointed last trip down for Easter Sunday Calypso's was closed, probably because he was supposed to open and didn't make it. Took Sarah to the Pilot house instead, remind me to only drink there from now on, I remember why we left. Great ambience and location but....
No other news here for now, Take care!keep the updates coming.
