The bus trip was very good it took one hour less than expected and very comfortable, the ac was freezing but they provide a blanket, sandwich, soda, bathroom on board and it is quite comfortable for only 576 baht. Make sure you purchase the ticket at the bus terminal since there are several other alternatives.
After booking with Khao Lak Scuba Adventures I went to the beach to relax and at 6pm we left for the port to get on board.
The  accommodations were  very nice considering the price range, the crew very efficient, keeping the boat immaculate, the food plentiful and delicious, both Thai and European, the ac of course freezing, even for Germans, and Dutchs on board.
The diving was very good, the dive master takes the group 4to 5 divers and acts as a tour guide . going from place to place that they know on the reef. Visibility was not that great. Coral is in fairly good shape and small fishes are all over, the big boys were missing.  You have the chance to see a great variety of species but what call my attention the most was the amount of divers on each site, usually there are 5 to 6 liveaboards with 20 plus divers each, so you do the math.
After 4 days of diving and dining we got back to town where I rented an excellent bungalow for 600 baht at Khao Lak Seafood (the rooms are behind the restaurant) almost brand new , huge, and on a beautiful setting overlooking the hill with flowers all around.
The beach is not that good, but I spend a couple of nights since I was lucky to hook up with Joe Fox and his lovely family,
We compare our trips, had a couple of great dinners and a fantastic time. By the way we still rather dive with Quiescence!!!!!!

Good to hear from you!
I'm following but hadn't had time to sign on. Glad you hooked up with Joe and family. Everything sounds great, and not as much camping as I thought. First night was a perfect way to start.
Haven't been in the water here yet since you left, maybe Sunday 2 of 3 parameters may be met. Water is still cold.
What's the water temp running there?
