Even before I knew of Liberty Statue, the Gateway Arch of Mississippi River is my very first picture of America.
I never dreamt of coming here, but guess what, I have been there. Thanks to Amtrak. We arrived there around lunch time and spent the afternoon around the area. The view from the top of the arch at 630 feet above is breathtaking. You have the Mississippi River and East St. Louis on one side and the downtown St. Louis on the other.
We used the train to go around the city which stops at various interesting places.
What I particularly like is the image of the silver arch with the sun reflecting on it as it rises on the east. The arch just becomes golden in color.
It was kind of hot then so I have to take off my shirt.
My favorite shot is the bird's eye view of the city on board Continental Airlines while the plane flew over it from Chicago en route to Houston.
Enjoy the pictures!!!
