That's the longest I've ever traveled to get to my destination!  I left Greenville in the morning on January 18th.  Got to the airport and there was fog so my plane was delayed, not that you ever know what is going on in that airport (I do miss a big international airport!).  It became apparent that I was not going to make my connection in DC to JFK.  So instead, I caught a different flight to Laguardia, picked up my bag there, then grabbed a bus to JFK.  Crisis averted.  From JFK it was a 16 hour flight to Jo'burg.

Arrived in Jo'burg, where I was meeting Julie at the airport.  We ran into each other in immigration, grabbed our luggage and went to the Airport Sun Intercontinental, which you can walk to.  Beautiful hotel.  Had dinner there and relaxed since we were waking up early the next day to drive to Kruger National Park.
