It's Charles,

This is the last entry in our work exchange travel blog.  We wrapped up the year with a weekend to visit Scott, his wife Melanie, and their daughter Natalie in Portland, Maine.  Scott is Heather's brother.

Portland is a great city.  We went to a farmer's market, got some drinks at a bar on the water, and went to a park with an awesome view.  It was a great ending to our year away.  I'll let the pictures tell the story.

We need to head out again after March 5. Maybe hit South America this time. Stay tuned!

Just read through some of this blog... maybe you'll never see this but it was nice to read. I was hoping to see what you ended up doing (if you got into sustainable living and housing permanently). I spent 7 months in New Zealand doing farm stays and it was a great experience. I teach English in Korea now but don't know what to do next. Oh and I'm from Maryland too!

Hi Mike! Thanks for the comment. We ended up back in corporate jobs (since 2010) but are now planning our next career break -- we're leaving in Spring 2014 for South East Asia! We'll spend a few months there "living simply" and then head to South America. We probably won't do farm stays in Asia, but it's possible we will in South America. I tell everyone about as it was a great resource for farm stays/traveling. Go Ravens!
