Arrived in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. Our hostel the Hokondo Waikiki Beachside was a bit of a baptism of fire - a very crowded 8 bed dorm - and we both had top bunks! It was right in the heart of Waikiki and had free breakfast of toast and coffee. We spent our 2 days walking everywhere in light but persistent rain enjoying the sites and climbed to the highest part of the diamond head volcanic crater. It was a very strenuous climb and a beautiful view but very sad because I dropped my digital camera and it now won't work. A bad move a day or two into our holiday. There seems to be no repairers in all of Hawaii. And so on to the Big Island........
