After a really rough week of quitting my job, selling my house, and leaving my dog with friends, my boyfriend Justin and I set off to visit friends and family before I take off to Korea.  We had a great trip, which started with a night in Tucson, AZ, where I went to college.  A quick drink with friends, a night on an aerobed, and we were off again.  The next night we rolled into Las Vegas, NV, but not quite soon enough.  The final game of the World Series had picked up again and Justin, being a ball player himself and from just outside of Philly, was completely beside himself not being able to watch the game.  He settled for a play by play until we found some civilization and an Applebees where we watched the last inning.  GO PHILLIES!!  So now, its anther quick night, this one at the Excalibur, a little gambling (we finished ahead!) and breakfast at In-n-out burger before we took off for Idaho.

My parents now live in a little town on the Idaho-Oregon line called Weiser Somewhere in Nevada
Somewhere in Nevada
.  Its about 1 1/2 hour from Boise.  My dad built the house himself, and I have to day he did a great job.  We just relaxed for a few days, spent time in Boise, and had a really early Thanksgiving.  It was great to be with family.  We also got the chance to visit my grandparents and I heard the story of how they met for the first time.  Now you'd have to know my grandparents for it to be as funny as it was to us, but my favorite part is that after 65 years of marriage, they both remember the details so vividly.  And that on their first date they went bowling and my grandmother sent her ball down the wrong lane, her aim was so off.

From Weiser we took the beautiful drive over Lolo pass to my hometown of Hamilton, MT.   We stayed with my cousins and their two kids.  Turns out not much has changed, except now I'm old enough to go bar hopping.  And since there are about 4 bars downtown, it can't be too dangerous right?  Well, just ask Justin, or my jacket that I spilled Irish car bomb all over, or the high school football star that's now a town cop...never mind.  We had a great time, saw old friends, and truly, Hamilton is a beautiful and awesome place.  I'm glad my illusions weren't destroyed.  Quickly from there we spent a night in Missoula with one of my best friend's from high school, went to Bozeman for two nights in a closet at the Sigma Chi house, and to Billings to stay with Justin's host parents from his days playing for the Mustangs.  They were fabulous people and I just regret not being able to go up to their cabin with them as well.  I had to catch a flight back to El Paso to get ready for Korea!
