. The pictures show how nice it is here. We sat outside, walked, played games, or at least one game, many times – a new one where you travel around Europe, which we had forgotten we brought with us. Heather keeps winning this one which is the only reason she likes it. And Stefano got his first two wins today which made him rather happy. One of the evenings the boys were in a party mood, and the last in today’s photo section is an entertaining video.
Tomorrow we leave for Budapest. The weather forecast is for one fantastic day before temperatures dip down again the next day. It is expected to get to 77°/25°, which will be the warmest day of our trip so far. The drive is only two hours so we will leave early and see if we can enjoy the afternoon outside the van. Enjoy the video.
From Pécs we drove to Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe and one of Hungary's main tourist destinations. The lake is surrounded by campsites, but nearly all of them only open around April 15th. So after looking briefly and unsuccessfully for any good options we instead drove ten minutes away to a campsite next to another lake. This one was a thermal lake, naturally warm all year, up to 90°/32° in summer. Mostly old people go there for its curative effects, and we never actually went in it as young children are not encouraged. But we did spend three lovely days here, relaxing in a very nice campsite by a small river and next to some woods. And for the first time we were not alone, with several other campervans in attendance. Mostly old people visiting the lake, but other people nonetheless. We are not the only campervan in Europe after all. Not much to tell about this stay since it was just relaxing in nice weather and surroundings, but it was one of our favourite spots so far
