Yesterday morning we were up fairly early for a walk around Kochi before it got too hot. The area we were staying in was called Fort Cochin which had quite a Portuguese influence. We visited a couple of churches and a synagogue - there's a part of Kochi called 'Jew Town' but apparently there's only ten Jews so not many really!

We wandered along the waterfront where they had these huge mechanical fishing nets and the smell of fish was pretty intense - my idea of hell! Was interesting to see though. If you want to eat fresh fresh that's probably the place to go. Sadly it's wasted on me but I did have a fresh coconut instead!

A few of us grabbed some lunch at Dal Roti again which was delicious and we picked up something for the train journey too as it was going to be a long one....

We left Kochi at about 5ish to catch our train to Bangalore which was going to be 13 hours, eek! We'd then be catching another train from there to Mysore which would be about 2.5 hours so a long day of travelling! We stocked up on biscuits, water and sleeping tablets which seem to be the way forward on these journeys if you actually want to get some sleep!

All of us slept pretty well on the train which arrived in Bangalore around 7am. We then had about an hour's wait for our next train to Mysore. Everyone was pretty relieved to finally get here and desperate for a shower!

Just had some good food for lunch and going for a walk around the town in a bit to see what Mysore has to offer...

Another overnight train tomorrow to Hampi but not as long and we're there for 2 days so hopefully can relax a bit. Not long left of our tour now, can't believe how quickly the time has gone!
