This morning we left our lovely families in the backwaters of Kerala to travel to Kochi. They made us feel so welcome and I wished we could have stayed longer.

We had a delicious breakfast then headed off on our boat back to Alleppey to catch a bus to Kochi which would take a couple of hours. As usual in India something was running late! This time it was our boat so we ended up getting to Kochi later than planned but we didn't have loads planned so it wasn't a problem.

Had a bit of a kip on the bus whilst listening to some good music (well in my opinion anyway!); The Cure, some Led Zep and The Stones, I like to mix it up!

We got to our hotel in Kochi which is actually pretty nice and we have air con which is a real treat - will definitely be whacking that on tonight!

Went to a nearby restaurant for lunch called Dal Roti and oh my god was the food good! I had something called a Kati Roll which is paratha bread made into a wrap and it was filled with paneer and mixed veg, dee-licious! Might be tempted to go back there tomorrow... The guy who owned it was really sweet and was the spitting image of Bill Cosby, random I know!

This evening we went to see a local dance show which was quite an experience. The costumes and makeup impressed me the most. It's definitely very different to anything I've ever seen before.

Had a light dinner, caught up on emails etc as have been offline for a few days and now hitting the sack for some well earned sleep I hope!
