Koh Phi Phi is exactly what my mind conjures up if i try to imagine a tropical island paradise.. I didnt think that anything so magical would actually exist! The photos I have put up I think will give you a decnt idea of just how ridiculously wonderful the island is.. one day i will go back there....
Argh, so starting at the beginning a..? I arrived and decided I was going to be hanging out on the island a while and needed a local. My new friend and I met up at Hippies Bar that night, where I proceeded to charm all of the boys working behind the bar, and simutaneously get quite drunk.
After a few days of being ill, I got back on track and did a bit of exploring in my new home town of Ton Sai Bay. It is just a wee town, no vehicles what so ever, and the footpaths form a loop which probably takes 25 minutes to complete if you are walking at a decent pace. The thing is, Phi Phi is so relaxed that you dont walk at a decent pace, you go at probably a third of normal pace (due to a bit of precipitation, this was neccessary so as not to throw mud all up the back of your calves when walking in flip flops..). ...this in actual fact wasnt wholly successful, but im sure my legs were a sight cleaner than they otherwise would have been!
I loved Phi Phi.. It felt like i was home. I was completely comfortable, in an amazing place, and soon enough I found myself walking past the same man each morning, and asking how he is, (eventually had a couple of breakfast dates with him), the massage ladies, then the chick who works at the guest house, the jewelry man, the movies guy and then id get to the little coffee shop (which brewed remarkably good coffee) where id sit and watch the world go by, meet friends, or read!!
My time flew by like nothing else
I did a whole lot of nothing on phi phi..lay in my hammock and read a book all day, lay on the beach, sat in the coffee shop with friends chilling, or getting rather loud in a pub, drinking towers of tiger beer, and playing cards!
Living in Garden Inn, I soon became accustomed to the myriad of species who lived on my porch.. I had a pet frog - Phillip, and then he brought a friend over to play sometimes, his name was Steve. Then there was Sam the centipede (well at least I think he was a centipede..and to be honest, I got so many of these bad boys it was just nice to think it was the same one visiting each day..), a community of geckos (had a great night one evening watching phillip and the geckos clearing the porch of about 30 moths!) and then there was Anthony.... He might get his own blog I think..
The pictures I have taken I think say enough about this wee island paradise.. I was jealous of myself just looking at them!!
