Today, Friday February the 2nd, is the day I left the United States.  While I do not board the MV Explorer until 10am Sunday, February 4th, for me the journey has already begun and it entirely surreal.  This trip has been in the planning stages since the commencement of my college career (almost two and a half years ago now...wow!), and here I finally am, the place where I board the ship that will take me around the world.  And I want you to come with me, as I learn more about the world and more about myself.  I begin the documentation of my travels as I sit with my laptop on a California King bed, wishing away the next thirty-six hours of my life, as exciting and relaxing as they may prove to be since I am, after all, in The Bahamas, because I want to be on my way already (we all know how patient I am).  I've prepped, I've shopped, I've packed, I've fretted, and now it's time to go.  Almost.  Thirty-six more hours.  So until then, a little relaxation on the beach with a couple good books and the February 2007 issue of National Geographic.
