got off to a rough start again this morning. As it turns out Michigan, being right next to a great lake, really is very cold! So, I got my little "Iced Tukus" out of my sleeping bed and sat shivering until I managed to work up enough body heat to head to the showers. Then, a somewhat luxurious (luke) warm stream of water for a solid 20 minutes to thaw me out. Hmmm, if this is bad, how are the rockies going to be? Or Glacier national park (keyword GLACIER, you know......ICE???). Anyway, a few interesting town names; one Ottawa! One Wakefield, and one called Christmas, which profitted enormously by decorating every inch of the town in holiday parafernalia and enormous Saint "Nick" (for David) murals and cutouts all about the village. Unfortunately now it is pouring rain and with high winds and thunderstorms, we're trying to pass through it but it seems to pace us every mile. Behind is clear, ahead is clear and it's coming down like cats and dogs right here. (Ouch, cat in the eye!!!) My suggestion was to sit still and let it pass, but Thelma over here decided we should press on. Now we're driving through a rain storm and tossing about the idea of just getting a motel room for the night, but I'm finding it hard to make a decision because it seems to me it might be getting better. But it oh so looks like it's not getting better!
Anyway, we made it through Duluth, Grand Rapids and we're just about to come upon Bemidji. We gained an hour due to the Time Zone, so we may just try to press on and see where we end up. ...(later) we finally did make it to East Grand Fork Minnesota, minutes from North Dakota. We passed Climax, Minessota, it was quite a ways from Paradise, Wisconsin. Corelation???? I think so... haha
